Gilbert Piger comes from an all musical family. He started composing at age 7. He found his love for the classical guitar while in college. After that, he journeyed to Spain in order to learn it correctly at the Royal Conservatory. This is where he met his future wife. He also published several of his works in SpainĀ under the advise of Maestro Narcisco Yepes. Gil is also listed in the International Guitar Composers catalog established in Berlin, Germany.
Upon returning to the U.S. he established himself as a performer and teacher. Gil was commissioned to establish the guitar program at the University of Idaho while earning his Bachelor of Arts and his Masters in Music degrees.
Gil then moved on to Walla Walla where he began a new sound he calls “Flamenco Fusion” and started the production company GJP Productions. It was here that he recorded his first album with this new sound “Jazzy Flamenco” with his group. The album received rave reviews from Guitar Player Magazine and Jazz Line and even made the jazz charts.
Since then, Gil has been seen internationally in Europe, South America, and throughout North America. Gil continues to compose and record andĀ is available for bookings solo or with the group.
